Cheslea claimed an important Women’s Super League win over under pressure Arsenal on Saturday.
The Blues moved top of the WSL table by continuing their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 victory over the Gunners, who have only once all season.
Mayra Ramirez gave the away side the lead with an overhead kick in the opening four minutes and inflicted more damage on the hosts when they made the most of some poor defending, with Sandy Baltimore nodded in shortly afterwards.
After an underwhelming start to the season, Jonas Eidevall desperately needed a response and would get one when Caitlin Foord scored a fine individual goal just before the break.
Still, as much as the hosts pushed for a second after the interval, they could not find a way through. The Blues had to defend and did so well, even if they did not totally convince at times.
