Arsenal vs Burnley prediction and odds: Gabriel Martinelli tipped to score after Carabao Cup exit

Arsenal will be looking to add to the pressure in the race for a top six place when they face Burnley in this weekend's Premier League clash.

The Gunners are the favourites at 2/7 with Grosvenor Sport while Burnley are 11/1 and a draw is 22/5.

Mikel Arteta's side have not played a single Premier League match since their 2-1 defeat against Man City on New Year's Day but have been busy in the two domestic cup events - losing to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup before Liverpool knocking them out in the Carabao Cup semi-final too.

No cup distractions now means the Gunners have nothing but Premier League football to focus on and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome Burnley to the Emirates Stadium.

Sean Dyche's side have also not played a Premier League match since the start of the year when they lost to Leeds United 3-1 and the Clarets find themselves bottom of the table but have an incredible five games-in-hand to 17th-place Norwich City.

Team stats

  • Both teams in matches involving Arsenal have scored in just seven from 20 league outings while for Burnley it is 10 from 17 - both teams to score is 23/20
  • Matches involving Arsenal ended with three or more goals 11 times in the league compared to the eight times for Burnley - over 2.5 goals is 8/11
  • Arsenal average 9.65 total corners and 9.9 at home while Burnley average 10.82 in total and 10.1 away from home - over 10.5 total corners is 4/5

Player to watch

Gabriel Martinelli would have been frustrated by Arsenal's exit in the Carabao Cup, as would the rest of the side.

The Brazilian has been impressive as the 20-year-old showing everyone exactly what the fuss has been about since joining the Gunners and I think he is going to be a big problem for Burnley's defence.

He is 27/20 to score anytime.

H2H

This will be the 113th meeting between the two sides with Arsenal picking up 55 wins, 23 draws and 34 defeats.
