The draw for the Carabao Cup fourth round has taken place tonight, as the road to Wembley continues. Liverpool are the holders, after beating Chelsea in last season’s final, and Arne Slot’s side will travel to face Brighton next. Chelsea, meanwhile, must wait to find out their opponents.
That is because one fixture is still to be played in the third round, after AFC Wimbledon’s clash with Newcastle was postponed due to flooding at Plough Lane, and that will now take place at St James’ Park next week instead, with the Blues facing the winners. The big tie in the fourth round will come in north London, where Tottenham will host Manchester City.
Arsenal, meanwhile, go up against Championship side Preston, while Erik ten Hag will be satisfied with the draw, as it handed his side a home tie at home to Leicester. Elsewhere, Brentford will face Sheffield Wednesday for a place in the quarter-finals, and Crystal Palace are away to Aston Villa.
