Arsenal v Liverpool pitch invader tries to 'handcuff themselves' to goal during match

A pitch invader reportedly tried to handcuff themselves to a goal post during Liverpool's match against Arsenal.

The Red's premier league match against Arsenal was temporarily interrupted in the second half as a pitch invader ran onto the pitch at Emirates Stadium. The man was seen running onto the pitch in the 60th minute as the ball went out of play.

The man attempted to handcuff himself to a goal post but stewards managed to get to him. The man was escorted from the pitch.

The man ran onto the pitch moments afterJurgen Klopp's side scored their opening goal through Diogo Jota, who was then substituted.

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler was also baffled as he tried to talk those watching on through what was going on.

Fans took to Twitter after watching the pitch invader to question what happened. Twitter user @htomufc said "Someone’s just tried to handcuff themselves to the goal???" while @B777new said "Why would you as a grown man try to handcuff yourself to the goal post?"

@JDxR17 added: "Imagine trying to handcuff your self to a goal post like they can’t just lift the goal out of the ground."

The game was promptly restarted after stewards led the pitch invader away.
