It's no secret that Arsenal will be on the hunt for new midfielders this summer. There's been an evident shortage in the area since the turn of the new year and Edu will be doing everything he can to strengthen Mikel Arteta's more central areas.
Plenty of names have already been linked, including the likes of Wolves star Ruben Neves and Leicester City ace Youri Tielemans. But according to new reports, the latest target on the Gunners' shopping list is Bayern Munich's Marcel Sabitzer.
As per Bild, via The Sun, Arsenal are keen to sign the midfielder in a deal that could cost them just £13million. The Austrian international arrived at the Bundesliga giants last summer, joining from RB Leipzig, but he has struggled for consistent game time under Julian Nagelsmann's stewardship and could reportedly leave the Allianz Arena.

Whilst Arsenal would have to fight off competition from Atletico Madrid, it may be worth investing in the 28-year-old. That's not just because he'll add a wealth of experience, but also because he can offer a great help when Arsenal are out of possession.
“Playing without possession is a quality I have," he told bundesliga.com back in 2019. "I’ve trained in that department long enough and I can do it well!
"With the ball at my feet is something else; an aspect which definitely has some potential for improvement. I’m on it! I want to continue to improve until I finish my career. I want to be able to one day say: 'I’ve tried everything; gave it my all and it has been a great career!'. That’s my goal.”
We know how attentive Arteta is to setting up an energetic press off the ball, and even though it was a few years ago, Sabitzer's admission suggests he has all the qualities to help Arsenal in that category.
