Arsenal transfer target Adrien Rabiot has been compared to Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal by former Juventus teammate Gianluigi Buffon.
Rabiot has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with both Arsenal and Chelsea rumoured to be interested in signing the France international. The Gunners were previously linked with a move for Rabiot's teammate, Arthur Melo, but with just 12 months remaining on the 26-year-old's current deal, a move for Rabiot could be on the cards this summer.
football.london reported earlier this year that the north Londoners were keen to sign Arthur on loan during the January transfer window. According to Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb, the Serie A giants have offered Arsenal a two-player swap deal plus cash in an attempt to sign Brazilian defender Gabriel.

Speaking to GOAL in 2019, former Juventus goalkeeper and Italian footballing icon Gianluigi Buffon labelled Rabiot as an 'incredible player' with similarities to Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio. Buffon said: “He is a fantastic mix, he has the physical strength of Pogba, who is like a wardrobe.
“He has the personality of Vidal and potentially the dynamism of Marchisio. He is incredible, extremely strong."
The 44-year-old's words suggest Rabiot has the potential to thrive in the Premier League should a move to Arsenal happen this summer. Buffon also highlighted where the 26-year-old must improve his game if he is to become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
"He needs to improve his timing when approaching the opponent’s penalty area," Buffon added. "He can become a player with 10 goals per season.”
Mikel Arteta and Edu are searching for a new midfielder this summer to rival Granit Xhaka and add quality in depth ahead of a busy 2022/23 campaign. football.london understands that the Gunners have stalled in negotiations for Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans but reports of other teams being interested in acquiring his services could change their stance.
