Arsenal transfer stance on Jude Bellingham revealed as Premier League title hands major chance

Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham seems to be the next generational English talent, having continued on his rise to stardom in the past year. The 19-year-old has been a regular for the German side since taking the step up from playing in the Championship.

From Champions League performances to captaining the side, his ability and attitude have the markings of a true leader in several ways. This was only amplified further over the winter during the World Cup, where he managed to break into the England squad as a regular starter.

His performances earned plenty of plaudits, while his reaction to help out Harry Kane after his missed penalty shows his leadership style early on. Everything put together has created the perfect recipe for an ideal future midfielder, meaning plenty of teams are following a move.

One team that has been on the fringes but not directly mentioned surrounding a deal has been Arsenal, with the side not at their usual competitive standard in recent years. There has since been a change at the club though, with Mikel Arteta returning them to their very best with his implementation of youth.

With the side top of the league, an unlikely title win could put them as contenders for Bellingham's signature and he would be an ideal fit for them too. The Athletic reports that Arsenal's recruitment staff do admire the midfielder, however there are potential issues with a move.

Firstly the price of £150million set by Dortmund could be too hefty for the Gunners to make possible within their budget, even with a return to the Champions League and a title win. The other problem is that they will be starting behind their competitors in trying to land him.

The process for impressing the player's camp for a project that will work long-term takes time and with others ahead of Arsenal, they may be unable to make a move stick.
