With a crucial match in the race for the Premier League's top four taking place tonight away at Newcastle, the Arsenal faithful will be hoping that a positive result can bring them closer to Champions League football. This would mean that the Gunners will be able to begin setting their sights on some summer transfer targets.
Here, football.london takes a look at a round-up of the day's transfer news
'Fee agreed' for Tavares replacement
The Gunners have missed Kieran Tierney since the Scotland international underwent knee surgery last month and have seen a number of players step into his place, most notably Nuno Tavares. The Portuguese defender has not quite convinced when called upon this season, being hauled off at half-time against Nottingham Forest in January.

They do, however, appear to have lined up a replacement for the left-back with Bologna's Aaron Hickey firmly on the radar as potential replacement for fellow Scot Tierney. According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Gunners are getting closer to a £23/24million deal for the former Hearts defender.
Hickey has impressed in Serie A this season, scoring five goals and can also play at right-back as well as in central midfield. The 19-year-old would bring versatility and freshness to Arteta's young side and would remove the burden from Tierney who has never played more than 30 league games in a season since joining the Gunners in 2019.
Gabriel exit being looked at
One of the more surprising pieces of transfer news could well be the rumoured departure of Gabriel. The Brazilian centre-half has been an ever-present for Mikel Arteta this season and brings a balance to the defence alongside Ben White. However, another Italian publication Tuttosport claim that the Gunners could be open to a sale, with Juventus interested.
The Gunners are reportedly ‘developing the idea of selling the player’, with William Saliba set to return from his spell on loan at Marseille. Arsenal fans need not worry just yet though, as the report also states that Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina is Juve's primary defensive target but this is certainly a story which could yet develop over the course of the summer.
