Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be desperate for the season to start as soon as possible so he can put the pain of last campaign behind him.
The Gunners ended up finishing fifth despite boasting a five-point advantage in fourth with just three games to play. To make matters worse, they were pipped to the final Champions League place by their most fierce rivals in Tottenham Hotspur, who beat them late on in the season to shift the momentum in North London.
In turn, there is every chance Arteta sanctions plenty of arrivals and spends big for the second successive summer transfer window to give his side the best chance of returning to the European elite once again after a six-year hiatus.
Mirror Football has analysed three reports that signal more transfer drama is just around the corner at the Emirates.
Saliba says he "belongs" to Arsenal
William Saliba's Arsenal career has been a well-documented, if confusing saga that could be in for another chapter soon.
The young Frenchman signed for the Gunners while Unai Emery was still the boss in the summer of 2019, but three years down the line is still yet to make a competitive appearance in the red half of North London. However, after loan spells with Saint-Etienne, OGC Nice and Marseille - he could finally break into the Arsenal first-team next season.
Saliba took the unusual step of clarifying confusion over his club future via a television interview in France. "I belong to Arsenal, and I still have two years there," Saliba told TF1 , per Get Football News France.
"I will be there for pre-season with Arsenal. I have played zero matches with Arsenal and I want to show them what I'm made of and have the chance to play for the supporters and for this big club." Affirming his dedication to the Gunners, he added: "In any case, leaving like that would be a shame."
The 21-year-old's comments read as if he is ready to come back to Arsenal and fight with the likes of Benjamin White and Gabriel for a place in the heart of the Gunners defence.
Bissouma links resurface after Instagram activity
HAVE YOUR SAY! Should Arsenal sign Bissouma this summer? Comment below
Yves Bissouma's latest social media update has sparked excitement among the Arsenal faithful as the Mali international appeared to try and angle a move to the Gunners himself.
The 25-year-old has long been on the Gunners' radar as a result of his stellar showings in the middle of the park for the Seagulls and his links with the North Londoners are not likely to end anytime soon. This is because Bissouma has openly shared posts calling for him move to the Emirates to his own Instagram profile.
Bissouma re-posted a short clip of one of his own performances during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo earlier this week, alongside a caption posted by the original uploader that read: "For me, I think that he [Bissouma] and [Youri] Tielemans should be our priority at midfield, we must get Yves Bissouma at all costs @arsenal."
The Brighton man did not stop at one, re-sharing another post from the same user who went under the display name of "1rafc" - the second story reading: "I've been following up on Bissouma and I think he's the one to replace Partey long-term, he's just 25."

Jesus agreement reached
Arsenal are rumoured to have reached an agreement with Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus over the Brazilian's personal terms.
Arteta has been vocal in his desire to add another striker to his squad, a task that has only become more important in the wake of Alexandre Lacazette's recent departure.
Football Insider report that the 25-year-old's representatives have been in regular communication with the forward and despite Arsenal's lack of Champions League football next season - Jesus is still keen on becoming the main man at the Emirates.
All that is left now is for the Gunners to come to an agreement with City over a transfer fee. It is widely believed that Pep Guardiola's side are holding out for a figure around the £55million mark.
However, Arsenal are reluctant to offer the reigning Premier League champions more than £40m given he has just one year left to run on his deal at the Etihad.
