Arsenal transfer round-up: Tielemans sent clear message as Aubameyang price tag set

Arsenal's start to the season could not have gone much better for Mikel Arteta after watching his side win both of their opening games in emphatic fashion.

The Gunners hit four past Leicester City in a commanding display at the Emirates on Saturday to follow up their opening day win over Crystal Palace. Gabriel Jesus was the star of the show with two goals and two assists against the Foxes, while Arsenal's other new recruits, including Oleksandr Zinchenko have also shone.

But there could still be more faces through the door before the end of the transfer window, with Arteta still keen to strengthen further. Here are the latest updates and rumours from around North London.

Arsenal fans gave Youri Tielemans a taste of Emirates hospitality by hailing the Leicester midfielder as he was taken off in Saturday's Premier League thriller.

The 25-year-old is highly-regarded by many and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United this summer, with less than one year remaining on his contract at the King Power. But he lasted just over an hour before he was taken off in North London having failed to make his mark on the game.

Fellow Belgian Dennis Praet was sent on in Tielemans' place by Brendan Rodgers and, as the substitution took place, the Arsenal faithful made their thoughts clear on their club's reported transfer target. Chants of "you're gonna play for the Arsenal" could be heard from sections of the Emirates, proving Tielemans is still held in high regard despite his quiet outing on Saturday afternoon.

Barcelona are reportedly willing to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave the club this month - providing Chelsea can meet their asking price.

According to Relovo, the Catalan club want €25million (£21.1m) to part company with the Gabonese striker, who only moved to the Nou Camp in January.

Chelsea are keen to bolster their front line and Thomas Tuchel is open to linking up with Aubameyang again as Arsenal's former captain could pitch up at their London rivals.

Arteta hails new boy Jesus

Mikel Arteta has praised new signing Gabriel Jesus after his impressive performance against Brentford.

The Brazilian put the Gunners on their way to victory with two goals before assisting two more for his teammates in a superb display. Yet speaking after the game, Arteta revealed his striker was still not content.

“He scored 2, assisted 2, but he’s still disappointed in that dressing room because he said he could’ve scored 4. That’s the standards and mentality you need to go to a different level," Arteta said.

"We know what Gabi can do. I would not like to play against him. So mobile, so intuitive, always sharp."
