Arsenal have enjoyed decent success in the transfer market under Mikel Arteta and as a result, the Gunners' fanbase tends to have faith in whoever their manager wants.
The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Benjamin White have all been brought in by the Spaniard and flourished since arriving at the Emirates. It appears as if the more money Arsenal spend on a player under Arteta, the better he plays - with the signings that have not set the Gunners back as much struggling to settle.
That includes free-transfer Willian who lasted one season, Nuno Tavares who has been exiled on loan and Albert Sambi Lokonga who is currently struggling for minutes in North London.
With that in mind, Mirror Football has identified the most notable Arsenal-related rumours as they appear to be edging closer to a mega-money move.
Mudryk deal progressing well
Arsenal reportedly held positive talks with the Shakhtar Donetsk hierarchy over the potential signing of 22-year-old winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Arteta has been a keen admirer of the Ukrainian international since the summer and is desperate to bring him to Arsenal, but is less than happy with Shakhtar's astronomical £88million asking price for a player with less than 50 league appearances for the club.
The player is thought to be just as keen on plying his trade at the Emirates as soon as possible and has left many social media hints to let fans know he is in favour of the move.
Arsenal have already had one bid rejected, but the fact talks are ongoing suggests the Gunners are ready to offer more to get this one over the line before the deadline at the end of this month.
Gunners reach out to Serie A star
Arsenal are rumoured to have been one of two Premier League sides to make contact with Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they aim to bolster their midfield options.
There has long been fears as to who the Gunners could call upon should one of Thomas Partey or Granit Xhaka sustain any kind of injury or suspension.
Arteta's desire to land Milinkovic-Savic's signature is nothing new, with the first reported interest from the Gunners coming in the summer of 2021 but the Serbian international stayed put.
Lazio initially snubbed any of Arsenal's advances, but Italian outlet Il Messaggero have claimed the Serie A titans have U-turned to the point where they could be willing to allow Milinkovic-Savic to leave on loan as early as this month.
Inter Milan want £34m Arsenal ace
Any time the transfer window is open it inevitably means Arsenal could also see some departures as well as new arrivals, one of whom could be in-form striker Folarin Balogun.
The Hale-End academy graduate is currently on loan with French side Stade de Reims, where he has shone this term and bagged 10 goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances.
As a result, this has sparked interest from elsewhere and Italian titans Inter Milan are keen on bringing the striker to the San Siro even though Arsenal have slapped a £34m price-tag on Balogun's head.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter and local rivals AC Milan are both keeping tabs on Balogun and though Arsenal boast a recall clause in his loan contract, it is more likely any permanent departure would come in the summer.
