Arsenal transfer news: West Ham hint at Declan Rice agreement as Sporting CP defender targeted

Your morning Arsenal transfer roundup on Sunday, July 2.

Rice hint

West Ham United have made a major update to their club website surrounding Declan Rice as the 24-year-old edges closer to completing his £105million transfer to Arsenal.

When accessing the Hammers shop on their official website, the No.41 shirt with Rice on the back is no longer available to purchase. Manuel Lanzini's No.10 jersey is also missing now that the Argentine's contract with the east London club has expired.

Inacio targeted

Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio has attracted interest from Arsenal, according to Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha (via Sport Witness ).

Their report has claimed that the Gunners, along with Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United, are all interested in signing Sporting centre-back Inacio during the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old is said to have a €45million (£38.6million) release clause in his current contract in Lisbon.

Smith Rowe speaks out

Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe has claimed that he is excited at the prospect of Kai Havertz joining the Gunners this summer despite having to face additional competition for minutes.

When asked about the north London club's transfer business this summer, Smith Rowe told the Sun : “I see what happens and obviously it’s good for the club to add strength to the team. I feel like the additions we’re making are going to really help the team progress again.

"It’s really exciting so hopefully we can go one step further next season. Of course (it is extra competition with Havertz arrival), but this is football.

"You’ve just got to get on with it. I’ve got to keep working hard and it’s healthy competition. I’ve got to keep fighting.”

Who should Arsenal keep or sell this summer...?
