Arsenal transfer news: Matteo Guendouzi set to seal £10m permanent switch to Marseille

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is set to join Marseille this summer for around £10million.

Guendouzi is currently on loan at the French club on a deal which is close to being made permanent.

The 22-year-old initially joined Marseille last summer and the clauses set out to make the move permanent were all deemed to be achievable.

One of them required Marseille to play in Ligue 1 next season and that is now almost officially confirmed, meaning Guendouzi can make his loan move permanent for a fee in the region of £10m.

Marseille are currently second in Ligue 1 and are 25 points clear of the relegation places with 12 games to go.

As a result, the club’s permanent move for Guendouzi should be wrapped up soon and the midfielder is excited to make the switch.

He is set to sign a three-year contract with Marseille, where he has established himself as a regular this season.

Guendouzi fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta in the summer of 2020 and spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin.
