Arsenal transfer news: Lautaro Martinez deal, Darwin Nunez boost, Victor Osimhen £100m update

Whilst Monday was a hugely disappointing night for Arsenal fans with a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, there's still plenty to be optimistic about with what's going on at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are still in a good position to take the fourth Champions League spot, with a number or huge games to come in the following weeks.

If they're able to secure qualification, they'll look to keep that place for years to come with an important transfer window ahead of them this summer. Mikel Arteta has built a solid core at the club, with a number of young players for Arsenal to be excited about.

This summer they will look to strengthen the group, with a number of potential key signings. After losing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in January and with Alexandre Lacazette likely to leave, we know that a striker will be an area of need which they will address - with three big European targets linked today.

Arsenal could secure Martinez for cut-price

Arsenal are one of many sides who are reportedly eyeing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez who could leave Italy this summer. Italian outlet Calciomercato.it have reported that the Argentine striker is unhappy at Inter having lost his place as a regular in the side to new signing Edin Dzeko, who has hit the ground running in Milan.

Martinez still boasts impressive stats though, scoring 16 goals this season whilst impressing against Liverpool at Anfield. Martinez had £92million release clause which had expired last summer, with the outlet reporting that an offer of around £60million could now see Inter sell the 24-year-old.

Manchester United and Tottenham are also reportedly interested.

Gunners named as favourites for Nunez

The second-highest goalscorer in Europe behind only Robert Lewandowski is a man expected to be highly in-demand this summer, as Benfica's Darwin Nunez will hope to impress on the big stage against Liverpool this evening. Nunez has 20 goals this campaign in a breakout season for the Uruguayan, and has been linked with a number of big European clubs.

Portuguese outlet Record have reported that Arsenal are one of the favourites to sign the 22-year-old. However, Benfica are expected to ask for at least £60million from any interested parties, with a current release clause at £125million.

Napoli raise price for Osimhen

One striker who Arsenal may now be priced out of though, is Napoli's Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is also in the midst of a breakout season, scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances and has been linked with a number of European clubs.

Il Corriere dello Sport reported that Newcastle made a substantial offer in January, while Arsenal and Manchester United are expected to revive their interest in the summer.

However, the Italian side have now reportedly slapped a £100million asking price for them to consider any bids for the 23-year-old.
