This past week was provided much-needed wins for Arsenal fans - and the club in general. After three consecutive Premier League defeats, many were already projecting that Mikel Arteta's side would hand the fourth place spot to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the battle for Champions League qualification.
But with Spurs failing to win in their last two games, while Arsenal secured huge victories over Chelsea and Manchester United who had also begun looking in with a big chance, the Gunners are now back in a solid position to take the all-important fourth spot.
With Spurs drawing 0-0 away at Brentford in the late kick-off on Saturday, it means Arsenal are once again in control of the top-four race with five games remaining. From trailing their rivals by three points a week ago, they now have a two-point lead after recent twists and turns.

The 2021/22 campaign has been a real positive one for Arsenal, and although there's been hiccups along the way - it is clear to see that the club are building towards something special at the Emirates Stadium.
This summer will arguably be the club's most important one, as they look to set themselves up for long-term success. Here's a look at the latest transfer rumours:
Darwin Nunez price tag revealed
The second-highest goalscorer in Europe behind only Robert Lewandowski is a man expected to be highly in-demand this summer with Benfica's Darwin Nunez having impressed throughout this season. Nunez has 25 goals this campaign in a breakout season for the Uruguayan and he has been linked with a number of big European clubs.
Portuguese outlet Record have reported that Arsenal are one of the favourites to sign the 22-year-old. However, Benfica are expected to ask for £56million, as The Sun has reported.
Arsenal will certainly be in the market for a striker after losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaving for Barcelona and Alexander Lacazette set to leave as a free agent.
Arsenal want Gabriel Jesus as marquee signing
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is set to become available this summer with the club seemingly certain to sign Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland. The Norwegian will instantly become the main man at City, with Jesus falling further down the pecking order as he's continued to be linked with a move away.
The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal are looking at Jesus as making him their marquee signing of the summer, as they look to replace the aforementioned Lacazette and Aubameyang this summer.
The report suggests Edu is monitoring Jesus' situation at City closely, with a potential bid coming in after the season.
Lautaro Martinez wants Premier League move
Finally, recent reports suggest Lautaro Martinez is now very keen on a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal are one of many sides who are reportedly eyeing Inter striker Martinez who could leave Italy this summer. Italian outlet Calciomercato have reported that the Argentine striker is unhappy at Inter having lost his place as a regular in the side to new signing Edin Dzeko, who has hit the ground running in Milan.
Martinez still boasts impressive stats though, scoring 17 goals this season whilst impressing against Liverpool at Anfield. Martinez had a £92million release clause which had expired last summer, with the outlet reporting that an offer of around £60million could now see Inter sell the 24-year-old.
