Arsenal transfer news: Edu has Mykhaylo Mudryk secret agent as Gunners given Joao Felix hint

Your morning Arsenal transfer round-up on Thursday, January 5.

Mudryk secret agent

Chelsea's recent interest in acquiring Mykhaylo Mudryk from under the noses of London rivals Arsenal in January has understandably caused some concern among supporters. The Gunners have been pushing for a move since the summer, but Todd Boehly could plot a transfer hijack in January if a deal cannot be agreed between Shakhtar and Arsenal.

Ben Jacobs has revealed that the Blues are yet to put in any kind of offer for Mudryk and that the man at the centre of the transfer saga is still pushing for Arsenal. He also goes on to note that there is a player who could play a pivotal role in securing the transfer for Arsenal.

Summer arrival Oleksandr Zinchenko has been in regular contact with Mudryk as both players are from Ukraine. With his wife Vlada Zinchenko interviewing Mudryk towards the end of 2022 where the topic of moving to Arsenal did arise.

Felix hint

Joao Felix continues to be strongly linked with a Premier League move in January after his relationship with Atletico boss Diego Simeone appeared to sour. The 23-year-old has caught the attention of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, with all three clubs far more interested in a loan than a permanent deal.

Although Felix was on the scoresheet for Atletico against Elche, a potentially huge hint has been dropped on his transfer future after Atletico's squad reveal for their Copa del Rey clash against Real Oviedo on Wednesday showed no sign of Felix

23 players are included in the list but Felix's name is absent which could be sign of his impending departure if Atletico have lowered their demands. However, there could be another reason for is omission with a possible injury or illness keeping him out of the squad, nonetheless it is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Tielemans January deal

Arsenal's interest in Youri Tielemans has cooled, football.london understands. The Gunners were heavily linked to the Belgian international over the summer amid reports that his agent had held talks with Edu.

However, Arsenal opted not to make a move for Tielemans and it's understood that a move for him at the time was not close to completion. There have been some suggestions that Mikel Arteta's side could go back in for the 25-year-old in the January transfer window, but that seems unlikely as things stand.

Tielemans has just six months remaining on his deal with Leicester City and could be available for a reduced price in this window, but Arsenal are not thought to be keen at this moment in time. The Belgian is understood to have several suitors across Europe, including teams in Spain, while Chelsea have also reportedly shown interest.
