Arsenal transfer news: Djed Spence race, Clement Lenglet interest and William Saliba latest

It's an exciting time to be an Arsenal fan right now.

After another important win in the race for the top four, with Manchester United, West Ham and Wolves all losing, the Gunners are now in pole position to make the final Champions League spots.

And they'll look to keep that place for years to come with an important transfer window ahead of them this summer.

Mikel Arteta has built a solid core at the club, with a number of young players for Arsenal to be excited about. And this summer they will look to strengthen the group, with a number of potential key signings.

After losing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in January and with Alexandre Lacazette likely to leave, we know that a striker will be an area of need which they will address.

And another position of need will be in their backline.

Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence has been linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester City after a breakthrough season whilst on loan with Nottingham Forest.

The 21-year-old will have a host of offers this summer, with Boro unlikely to be able to keep the full-back, Arsenal are now reportedly in for him, as Sky Sports Germany have reported.

Spence is expected to cost around £15million.

Elsewhere, the Gunners are also said to be in the race for Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet this summer.

That's according to Fichajes, who claim Arsenal are in pole position for his signature.

The Gunners are said to be likely to push for a new centre-back, and Lenglet could well be on the way out of Barcelona this summer.

Barcelona are reportedly looking to make some moves at the position themselves, with the Frenchman likely to drop further down the pecking order.

And finally, centre-back William Saliba will cost any team £27million this summer if he is to leave Arsenal.

The Frenchman has not kicked a ball for the Gunners since joining in 2019, but The Sun has reported that he could leave with a number of clubs said to be interested.
