Arsenal transfer news: Arteta's influence on Timber transfer revealed amid Havertz admission

Timber claim

Ajax defender Jurrien Timber believes that Arsenal is the ideal club to sign for during the summer transfer window, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

"Jurrien Timber believes Arsenal have the perfect project for his future", Romano said on Twitter. "Manager and clubs plans immediately convinced the player, Arteta’s having big influence as he did with Havertz.

"#AFC Second bid expected soon, more than €40m to advance in talks with Ajax."

Nwaneri offer

Chelsea are looking to sign talented Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri, according to recent reports.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Nwaeri's future in north London in recent times and now transfer guru Felix Johnston has claimed that the Blues want to bring him to the west part of the capital, tabling an offer.

Writing on Twitter, Johnston said: "EXCL: Understand Chelsea have tabled an offer to Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri. Nwaneri still yet to sign a scholarship with Arsenal.

"He still hasn’t made a firm decision on his future, so all doors are open, but Chelsea are really pushing."

Arteta breaks silence on Havertz deal

During an interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has broken his silence on the impending deal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

football.london understands that the Gunners agreed to a £60million plus £5million in add-ons package to sign the German international. Now, Arteta has opened up about the prospect of Havertz playing for the north Londoners next season.

The Spaniard said: “Talent comes at a price, and at Arsenal, we are always interested in youngsters with experience. I repeat I'm not talking about players from other clubs, but in the case of Kai, he has already shown a lot, including a Champions League.

“He is a talented player, versatile and only 24 years old."
