Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal make Mohammed Kudus ‘contact’ as Hakan Calhanoglu eyed

Arsenal ’s sporting director Edu will be hard at work in a month’s time with the transfer window set to open.

The Gunners had an extremely busy summer as they welcomed the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and more to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners spent around £120m throughout the summer window and that spending shows no sign of slowing down in the future.

Arsenal have already been linked with a number of players throughout Europe ahead of the window. With that being said, Mirror Football brings you the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming out of the Emirates Stadium from the last 24 hours.

Arsenal make Kudus ‘contact’

One of the stars of the World Cup so far, Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus is much sought-after already. The 22-year-old scored a brace in Ghana’s victory over South Korea.

His performances for Eredivisie giants Ajax have also been eye-catching, leading to plenty of interest in his services - including from the Emirates Stadium. According to 90min, the Gunners have already made contact with Kudus’ current employers regarding the prospect of a January deal.

Whether those initial enquiries progress into a tangible move remains to be seen but Arsenal face competition in the race for the midfielder with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle also noted as admirers.

Arsenal told Calhanoglu price

Arsenal have been told that it would cost them €30m (£25.9m) to sign Inter Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu. As per Inter Live, the Gunners are eyeing a move for the Turkish midfielder alongside Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Inter are apparently not all too keen on selling having put a relatively high price on him, whilst they are considering activating an option in his contract to extend his stay at the San Siro beyond 2024.

Calhanoglu has scored three times and provided five assists in all competitions for Inter this season having joined from fierce rivals AC Milan in 2021.

Arsenal in touch for Bennacer

Staying at the San Siro, it is reported that the Gunners are also eyeing a move for one of Calhanoglu’s former teammates Ismael Bennacer. Like the Turkish creator, the 24-year-old has just a year-and-a-half remaining on his current AC Milan contract with the Gunners interested in a move.

As per Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have got in touch with the Serie A giants over his services.

The Gunners have been on the hunt for a midfielder for some time with Leicester star Youri Tielemans very strongly linked with a future switch.
