Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Raphinha approach incoming; Fabio Vieira deal slated; Tielemans latest

Arsenal are in the hunt for some big deals as the transfer window continues to heat up.

After landing Marquinhos and with Fabio Vieira on the way, the Gunners are showing some serious intent in their bid to return to the Champions League.

Raphinha remains on their radar and reports suggest their interest in the Leeds winger is ramping up.

Elsewhere, the deal for Vieira - slated by some back in Portugal - appears to be impacting Arsenal’s potential move for Youri Tielemans.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer news and rumours...

Raphinha

Arsenal are preparing to join Tottenham and Barcelona in making an official approach for Raphinha, according to The Times.

Leeds want to make over £50million for the winger as they consider his desire to move on after helping the club beat relegation last season.

No official offers have arrived, it is said, but Edu has held talks with Raphinha’s agent, Deco, ahead of making contact with Leeds.

Arsenal are due to announce the arrival of Fabio Vieira any minute now - as a row breaks out over his transfer from Porto.

Former Porto presidential candidate Nuno Lobo has slammed the £34m deal as “unbelievable”, saying: “He is one of the best players at Porto and leaving for this fee is a bad deal.

“We are talking about one of the gems of Porto, one of the players who came from our academy. The DNA of Porto. We lost him. It’s another piece of business that I don’t understand. We are talking about ridiculous values for players who represent and are Porto. They are from our academy and we are letting them go for unbelievable fees.”

Youri Tielemans

Arsenal will put a move for Leicester playmaker Tielemans on the backburner while they pursue deals for Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.

Goal report on the Belgian being available for £25m ahead of his contract expiring next summer, yet the Gunners’ attention is said to be elsewhere.

That could prove to be good news for Manchester United, who are also linked with Tielemans.
