Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Fresh Milinkovic-Savic competition, Tielemans update, Simeone nears move

Arsenal are out to complete their summer transfer business after a busy spending spree in the market so far.

Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira stand as the Gunners’ biggest purchases of the window as their spending ticks towards the £200million mark.

Exactly who will arrive next is something of a mystery as Mikel Arteta targets a new creative midfielder.

Youri Tielemans and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have both been linked to the club along with striker Giovanni Simeone.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer news and rumours...

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Juventus have moved in on Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic having suffered an injury crisis in the centre of the park.

Paul Pogba and Weston McKennie are the latest to be ruled out for the start of the campaign, forcing the Old Lady into the market according to Corriere dello Sport.

Arsenal and Manchester United target Milinkovic-Savic is reportedly ready to leave Lazio and talks have taken place between the Gunners and his entourage, but Juve are now considering a bid against his £50m price tag.

All summer, Tielemans has been said to be keen on a move to Arsenal ahead of his contract expiring at Leicester.

But, Brendan Rodgers does not expect the player to wait around in the absence of a bid, with the Foxes wanting at least £30m.

“There has not been anything for him, we haven’t had any approaches to the club yet on that,” he said. “Of course it is in the back of the mind, that sort of what-if scenario, but he doesn’t want anything to drag on either."

Giovanni Simeone

Another player touted to sign for Arsenal earlier in the window, Hellas Verona striker Simeone could finally have found his new club.

Available for around £17m, the Argentine is wanted by both Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

Corriere della Sera report on Dortmund pushing forward with their bid after Sebastian Haller was diagnosed with a malignant testicular tumour which will require chemotherapy.
