Arsenal transfer news: £112m star 'offered', Alexander Isak latest, Jonathan David option

football.london brings a round-up of the latest Arsenal news and rumours ahead of the summer transfer window on Friday, February 25.

Who: Joao Felix

Where: The Independent

What: Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix as they seek a long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With their only other striking options Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah also out of contract in the summer it will be the Gunners' priority in the summer and they will be looking for targets now.

Despite the 22-year-old's brilliant goal in the Champions League on Wednesday night against Manchester United, the Portuguese striker has so far failed to live up to expectations in Spain.

He could be available for less than the £112million paid for him by Atleti in 2019 and considering that the Gunners were willing to pay in excess of £50million for Dusan Vlahovic in January, the funds appear to be available.

Although he isn't a traditional No.9, he could bring some spark to the Gunners' front-line despite an average scoring record in Spain of 16 goals in 75 league games.

Who: Jonathan David and Alexander Isak

Where: Fabrizio Romano (via FIVE YouTube channel)

What: While news of Felix's potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium will split opinion among Arsenal fans, moves for Jonathan David or Alexander Isak could be far more prudent, despite having less star appeal than the Portuguese.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the duo are on the shortlist for the Gunners to solve their striker problem and both would be exciting options with the duo being 22 years old.

Isak is the less prolific striker but could be more suited to the Premier League with his hold-up and linking play while David is a more dynamic forward capable of beating players and finishing off either foot.

They also play for Real Sociedad and Lille respectively so could realistically both be obtained for less than they might pay for Felix, which would be a bonus.

Romano sad on the FIVE YouTube channel: "So they need a striker, maybe two strikers, but they need an important striker, I would keep the names of Alexander Isak and Jonathan David on the list because they have both players on the list since January.

"I’m sure that Arsenal will go for something important in a key position."

Gunners technical director Edu reportedly met with Jonathan David's representatives in December and he could be the primary target with Isak the secondary option should one of David's other suitors beat them to a deal.
