Arsenal have been urged to make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer by former forward Jeremie Aliadiere. The 27-year-old has impressed in his second season in the Premier League, hitting the 20-goal mark for the Bees, guiding them to mid-table with ease, despite their lack of resources.
His manager, Thomas Frank, believes that Toney would score far more than 20 for a "big six" side if he were to make a move. "Of course not," the Dane responded when asked if he would swap his striker for Manchester City star Erling Haaland after his outstanding debut season in the league.
“If Ivan was playing in a top-four club, he would score 25-plus goals. I’m convinced about that. I’m very happy he is playing for us and not another club and I think it is remarkable what he has done.”

With the Gunners lacking that standout goal scorer in the league, signing someone like Toney could help them close that gap upon City with Haaland in the ranks. For former Arsenal striker Aliadiere, it's a move that the side should make when approaching the summer transfer window.
He told BoyleSports: "Every time I see Ivan Toney play, he impresses me. I think he would bring something that Arsenal haven’t got. He’s got a presence, he holds the ball up and he’s good in the air. He’s a player I’ve always liked and this season in particular he’s been fantastic. I’d be very happy to see him at Arsenal."
It remains to be seen whether it's the type of move Mikel Arteta would make, given the focus of youth when it comes to signings so far. But it could help them bring the Premier League title within reach.
