Arsenal to increase number of WSL games at Emirates Stadium after sell-out success

Arsenal will increase the number of Women’s Super League games they play at Emirates Stadium next season from three to five.

The Gunners, who usually play their games at Boreham Wood’s 3,400-capacity Meadow Park, sold a combined 139,000 tickets for WSL matches against Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham this season.

Arsenal also played all their Women’s Champions League matches at the Emirates and their semi-final second leg against Wolfsburg at the start of this month sold out.

Subject to Arsenal qualifying for the Champions League, all their matches from the group stage onwards will take place at the Emirates next season.

Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham said: “We’re delighted to confirm that our women’s first team will play five WSL games at Emirates Stadium next season.

This latest announcement ensures that as many supporters as possible can enjoy the matchday experience with us, as we continue to support the sustainable growth of women’s football.”
