Arsenal title victory hinted to be celebrated in 2023/24 home kit amid Invincibles anniversary

Ask anyone surrounding Arsenal about the potential of a title win this season and they might tell you where to go. We need nothing to jinx what could potentially be a glorious season that no one expected but there are potential plans afoot to celebrate a league victory 20 years on from the club’s greatest achievement that would mesh well with such a surprise this year.

In the 2003/04 season Arsenal, as we all know, managed to win the title without losing a single Premier League match. Coined ‘The Invincibles’ the Gunners would be awarded a gold trophy to represent their achievement.

Next season will mark the 20th-anniversary campaign of that fabled run. With that in mind, there have been plenty of discussions about how the club might celebrate this.

Footy Headlines have shared images of what a model of the 2023/24 home shirt could look like based upon predictions with what they claim is an expected accuracy of 75%. In the image, the first thing that strikes us is the gold elements of the kit.

The badge, Adidas crest, Fly Emirates logo, shoulder stripes and side trim are all gold. The last time the Gunners home kit featured any gold was back in 2015/16 where very thin gold lines could be seen around the collar and cuffs.

You had to go back to 2007/08 to find any more gold on the Arsenal home kit. This time represented by a straight gold line down each flank of the torso.

With the predicted kit so emblazoned with gold it makes sense to assume this is to represent the 20th anniversary season of the Invincibles' triumph in the Premier League. However, there is one more element to the potential get which could add even more gold.

The winner of the Premier League in its present iteration is awarded a gold patch to wear in place of the standard patch on the club’s sleeve. Arsenal are currently top of the league with a two-point buffer to Manchester City but the Gunners can extend this to a minimum of five points by winning their next two games against Leicester City and Everton.

The patch is currently worn by Manchester City who have won four of the past five league titles. Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are hoping to take the title for themselves and celebrate the 20th anniversary season of ‘The Invincibles’ by adorning their shirts with the gold their predecessors won so famously.
