Arsenal supporters notice the first player Mikel Arteta celebrated with after Reiss Nelson goal

Mikel Arteta struggled to contain his emotions after Reiss Nelson scored a 97th minute winner for Arsenal against Bournemouth at the weekend.

And in all fairness to the Gunners manager, he wasn't alone. As the goal generated quite a noise inside the Emirates Stadium, footage showed William Saliba taking aim with the corner flag, Ben White celebrating right in front of Neto and captain Martin Odegaard collapsing to the floor.

In truth, Nelson appeared to be the calmest person inside the ground as he was quickly mobbed by his Arsenal teammates, who congratulated the winger for coming off the bench to not only score the winner but also claim an assist to keep his side five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

But focusing on Arteta's actions in particular and a number of supporters noticed that the first player he celebrated with as he raced down the touchline was Kieran Tierney, who was an unused substitute for the game.

On Twitter, @AllanRileyy said: "Tierney and Arteta jumping up and down together but I'm supposed to believe that he's on the way out", @Sam28963090 said: "Tierney running and hugging Arteta. Love this" and @19AJR said: "He did. When the goal was scored and Arteta started running by the sidelines, it was Tierney whom he embraced first."

Interestingly, the Spaniard did comment on his emotions after the winner: "Crazy. You lose sight of where you are. I didn’t know where I was running to," he said in the post-match press conference. "But just looking at the faces of everybody, our staff, the players, all the supporters. The smiles and all that joy in their eyes, it’s just great to live."

Judging by the aforementioned responses, one of the two main takeaways from Arteta and Tierney's embrace is the latter wearing a jacket and snood given he usually gives off the impression that he is never affected by the cold weather, especially as is often seen wearing a t-shirt and shorts in training despite the freezing conditions.

The other is that the pair maintain a healthy relationship amid reports that the Scotland international is considering his future at the club ahead of the summer transfer window, having fallen down the pecking order at left-back following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
