Arsenal stars react to historic England Women's Euro 2022 victory over Germany at packed Wembley

Arsenal stars Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe reacted to England's historic win over Germany to lift the European Championships trophy.

England have taken the country by storm with an immense amount of hype and excitement throughout the Euro 2022 tournament. Ella Toone opened the scoring in the second half before Chloe Kelly earned a 2-1 extra-time win over record eight-time European champions Germany.

The result saw England secure a first ever major trophy and the country’s first since 1966. Plenty of stars in men's football including Tottenham's Harry Kane and Chelsea's Mason Mount joined Ramsdale, Saka and Smith Rowe in reacting to the historic result.

Ramsdale was the first Arsenal star to lead the celebrations on social media as the final whistle sounded at Wembley. The Gunners' no.1 goalkeeper delivered a one-word response to the unbelievable win tweeting, "BIG!" with a clapping and love heart emoji.

Meanwhile, Saka and Smith Rowe took to Instagram and reposted the Lionesses official account on their stories. Saka said in his post on Instagram: "Our well deserved champions! Congratulations!"

Smith Rowe, who is recovering from an injury ahead of Arsenal's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, simply posted a picture of the celebrations with three clapping emojis. Arsenal star and England captain Leah Williamson lifted the trophy along with Chelsea's Millie Bright after the duo had a stellar tournament at the heart of the England defence.

Arsenal's Beth Mead picked up the Euro 2022 Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot awards after a sensational tournament with the Lionesses. Mead scored six goals and set the tone for England with the opening goal of the tournament against Austria at Old Trafford.

The Arsenal Women Twitter page paid tribute to her contribution, as well as that of England captain and Gunners' teammate Leah Williamson.
