Arsenal stars’ controversial Wolves reaction is justified in the face of Mikel Arteta’s big gamble

Arsenal’s victory over Wolverhapmton Wandereson Thursday evening was met by discontent from rival fans due to the celebration of Gabriel Magalhaes after the match, which s totally justified.

The Brazilian was seen dropping to his knees in jubilation after the Gunners came out 1-0 winners in a tough-fought match, which now gives Arsenal the advantage in the top four race.

Gabriel was essential to the Gunners’ victory as the defender scored the opening goal, and played a huge part in securing a clean sheet, and that was why he was awarded man of the match.

His celebration at the end highlighted the togetherness of the team, and the determination to get all three points, as a Champions League spot is certainly up for grabs, and he shouldn’t be scrutinised for celebrating such a huge victory.

The 24-year-old was a rock in defence, and without him in the middle of the back four, the result certainly would not have gone in favour of the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s side have now recorded 11 clean sheets in the Premier League, and that is thanks to the solidarity of the back five.

The celebration’s after the Wolves victory was very similar to when Arsenal beat Leicester away at the King Power Stadium with an impressive 2-0 win.

Molineux and the King Power Stadium have been grounds where the Gunners have notoriously struggled in the past, so when a clean sheet and impressive victory is achieved, the celebrations after the match are certainly justified.

Gabriel’s jubilation on Thursday evening is even more justifiable when you consider how important of a win it was for Arsenal.

Coming on the back of an underwhelming January, where only one goal was scored and the team failed to win, which was made worse by a disappointing transfer window, it was crucial that Arteta’s side came back from the winter break with an impactful performance.

After Manchester United’s and Tottenham’s slip up in this game week, it has now put the Gunners in charge for a Champions League finish, something the fans have been calling out for during the previous five seasons, so this win was crucial for Arsenal.

Gabriel was at the forefront of this victory and he has been arguably Arteta’s most important player this season, so if the top four is achieved, it will be thanks to his defensive heroics, and he can over-celebrate all he wants after the match as long as the north London continue to record victories.
