Arsenal star has 'no plans' to stay past this summer amid transfer complication

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has no plans to stay at the north London club if recent reports are to be believed.

Bellerin spent the 2021/22 season on loan with La Liga side Real Betis, enjoying a productive season as Manuel Pellegrini's men clinched the Copa del Rey trophy back in April. The Spanish international has just over 13 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that the player is keen to leave permanently in the coming weeks.

"Hector Bellerin has no plans to continue at Arsenal next season", Romano wrote on Twitter. "He hopes for Real Betis to return, but the deal is more than complicated because of financial reasons. It will take time.

"Bellerin has also received other approaches and will decide his future soon." It is not just Betis that have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old.

Serie A side AS Roma is also said to be keen to sign the pacey right-back, but the player has made it no secret of his desire to return to the Benito Villamarín Stadium next term. "I have made my position clear to both clubs," he told Betis TV last month.

"Now we have two months to get the best deal for all three parties. I have always said I made an effort to come here, and I am willing to make every effort to keep it going because it is my home, and I am happy.

"It is also true that I had very nice moments in London, in England. Arsenal has given me a lot, the opportunity to be a professional. If I leave, it will be difficult, but hopefully, everything goes as we want."
