Arsenal star given huge transfer decision to make after surprise Chelsea and Liverpool interest

Eddie Nketiah’s future at Arsenal has been in doubt throughout the season. He is expected to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season, with his next destination not yet clear.

According to 90min football, both Liverpool and Chelsea are currently monitoring the striker’s situation. This comes after concrete interest from West Ham, Newcast;e, Everton and Crystal Palace.

Nketiah has been excellent for Arsenal in recent weeks and revived the Gunners' push for a Champions League place next season after Mikel Arteta’s side poor string of results forced the boss to take Alexandre Lacazette out of the side and replace him with Nketiah.

Nketiah scored four goals in four games leading up to the north London derby as he has started showing how crucial he is to the team. The Gunners were in poor form before he was given the chance to lead the line for Arsenal, but Nketiah’s impact on the side has helped the Gunners find form at the perfect time.

Nketiah has been in excellent form. Despite this, Arsenal are still searching for a striker as the Gunners are hot on the tail for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, with the Brazillian reported costing around £40m.

The Englishman recently claimed to want to play regular football, and that is the reason why he would leave Arsenal. It is only recently that Arteta has finally kept him in the starting lineup on a consistent basis.

If Nketiah decided to join Chelsea at the end of the season, then he would be re-joining the club he was released by as a youth player before being introduced into Arsenal’s Hale End academy. He has mentioned on numerous occasions about his switch from South West London to North London as a teenager.

The 22-year-old made a name for himself in an Arsenal shirt this season after scoring twice at Stamford Bridge which helped the Gunners to a crucial 4-2 victory. A move back to Chelsea will be a damaging blow for Arsenal, but also a surprising move if he is looking for more regular football, which will not be guaranteed at Chelsea or Liverpool due to the attacking talent they have.
