Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale claims Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is "so aggressive"

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has lauded Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, calling him the "most competitive person" he's ever met.

Alexander-Arnold, 23, is viewed as one of the best right-backs in the world - earning a spot in FIFA's FIFPro World11 in 2020.

The Englishman has already won the Premier League, Champions League, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his blossoming career.

He's also made more than 200 professional appearances for Liverpool and won 16 England caps to date, with plenty of competition in the right-back spot.

And Ramsdale, who has linked-up with Alexander-Arnold at international level, can see why the Reds ace has achieved so much at such a young age.

Should Trent Alexander-Arnold be England's first-choice right-back? Let us know in the comments below!

"So aggressive," said the Arsenal stopper when asked about Alexander-Arnold on the Tubes & Ange Golf Life YouTube channel.

"He is the most competitive person I have ever met in my life. FIFA, two touch. I would take his technique any day of the week."

Alexander-Arnold has been in fine form since missing Euro 2020 with a hamstring injury, producing 17 assists in all competitions this season.

"What a player, fantastic," said Manchester United legend Roy Keane when asked about the Liverpool star in January.

"The stats are absolutely brilliant, brilliant player, local lad bet he can’t believe his luck. [The] chances he creates, the assists - unbelievable.

"[He] looks like a good athlete, a decent lad, a brilliant player and we all get excited about attacking players.

"But to get excited about a full-back it’s how the game’s changed over the last few years. The full-backs are so important.

"The assists and positions he gets himself in, he’s brave got a lot of courage - what a brilliant player."

Arsenal icon Paul Merson added: "He’s phenomenal. People say, 'He can’t defend.' Why do you have to defend when you go forward like he does?

"To put up the figures and the assists that he gets is just mind-blowing, absolutely mind-blowing.

"Some of the balls that he plays, the weight of pass - everything he picks out he composes himself, never panics."

Merson went on to say: "If you’d have just had a look at his feet there and nothing else, you’d of thought it was David Beckham. He's not even out England right-back. We're blessed."

England have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the right-back slot, including Chelsea's Reece James, Manchester City's Kyle Walker and Newcastle's Kieran Trippier.

Many believe Alexander-Arnold is the best of the lot, while others think he should be pushed into Gareth Southgate's midfield.

"As of right now, my focus is training to nail down a right-back spot," said the player last November. "It’s about finding the right system, the right tactic to make that happen.

"Football is a strange game of people’s opinions. I think [Jurgen Klopp] wants to see me come away and play a lot, he wants me to perform the way I do for the club.

"It probably plays on his mind why I’ve not been able to replicate club form for country as well, but he’ll have his opinions and so will everyone else."
