Arsenal's interest in Youri Tielemans has cooled football.london understands. The Gunners were heavily linked to the Belgian international over the summer amid reports that his agent had held talks with Edu.
However, Arsenal opted not to make a move for Tielemans and it's understood that a move for him at the time was not close to completion. There have been some suggestions that Mikel Arteta's side could go back in for the 25-year-old in the January transfer window, but that seems unlikely as things stand.
Tielemans has just six months remaining on his deal with Leicester City and could be available for a reduced price in this window, but Arsenal are not thought to be keen at this moment in time. The Belgian is understood to have several suitors across Europe, including teams in Spain, while Chelsea have also reportedly shown interest.

The Gunners are currently focused on bolstering their forward line having submitted a second bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhaylo Mudryk. They are lacking in the forward areas after injuries to Gabriel Jesus, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe. This appeared to take its toll on Tuesday night as they were prevented from scoring at home in the Premier League for the first time this season by a diligent Newcastle side.
Arteta has stated that he would like Arsenal to get their business done early this January and told football.london after in his post-match press conference that the Gunners were doing everything they could to bolster their squad. "We are really trying to improve the squad in every window," the Spanaird said. "We’re trying to do our best because we cannot waste any windows still with the squad and the numbers that we have. We will try."
