Arsenal set to treble Bukayo Saka wage and fight off Man City and Liverpool transfer interest

Bukayo Saka's stock continues to rise after the Arsenal star enjoyed a brilliant World Cup debut for England.

The Gunners are keen to tie down the Hale End academy graduate to a new long-term deal with interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool continuing to grow. Saka has been one of the standout performers for Arsenal since breaking into the senior team and at just 21-years-old is already a key player for club and country.

Saka's double helped England to an opening game victory at the Qatar 2022 World Cup but it was the quality of his strikes that showed his immense ability. Gary Neville and ex-Gunners star Theo Walcott were just two of many to praise the 21-year-old after the Three Lions' 6-2 win against Iran, with Arsenal keen to get a bumper new deal agreed with Saka.

Saka remains in contract negotiations with his current deal only having 18 months left, yet the Gunners do have the option to extend by a year. The Gunners winger is said to be on around £70,000-a-week and as he continues to impress on the pitch, his value is soaring off it as City and Liverpool monitor his situation at the Emirates Stadium, as per The Mirror.

It could see him almost treble his salary towards £200,000-a-week, moving him among the club’s top earners to earn a similar wage to that of England teammate Phil Foden, who recently signed a new deal with City. Arsenal fear that if talks stall until after World Cup, then tying him down to a new deal will leave them with bigger bill, with Saka in huge demand as his current contract continues to run down.

Arsenal remain confident that the two parties will come to agreement but it could now prove to be an expensive renewal for the Gunners. The north London outfit confirmed Edu Gaspar's promotion to sporting director in recent weeks as they continue to protect the club's long-term vision.

Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba remain in talks over contract renewals at the Emirates Stadium, with the former having openly admitted he wants to stay with Arsenal for as long as possible. There is a growing interest in Saliba who has impressed since returning from a successful loan spell with Marseille, though the French defender is expected to extend his stay with the Gunners.
