Arsenal set for unexpected transfer windfall amid £145m Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber swoop

Arsenal's transfer business has been swift so far this summer as the side look to conclude the majority of their big incomings in the early stages of the window. The Gunners have already added one player to their ranks, announcing the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £65million.

There are two more deals in the pipeline too, with moves for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber potentially taking the summer spend over the £200million mark. Rice is nearing a switch from West Ham as football.london understands a club record bid was made last week for the midfielder.

Reports have since claimed that a deal in principle has been agreed with the Hammers, hitting a final valuation of £105million. There are still discussions to be had over the installments in which the huge fee will be paid over, however this will take some time to finalise.

Timber also looks on the brink of a move, with the north London outfit making two bids for the defender as Ajax hold out for their valuation. A deal worth roughly £40million is expected to be the final agreed fee, with personal terms already agreed by the Dutch international, taking a double swoop for him and Rice up to £145million.

That may not signal the end of the incomings, however there is likely to be switch towards exits in the weeks that follow as the squad needs to find some balance. On top of that, any windfall from sales could help ease the financial burden of the £200million spend early in the window.

While the players currently on the books could help raise that money, there may be an unexpected little boost coming the way of Arsenal. That's because, according to SportBILD, Premier League sides are eyeing up a deal to sign Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The 25-year-old joined the Bundesliga side from Arsenal last July, following a successful loan spell with the club, which has now caught the eye of other teams. That interest could bag the Gunners some extra income as they are claimed to hold a 10% sell-on clause in the deal.

With a valuation set at just below £10million, the side could add just under £1million to their coffers, which may be dwarfed by their spend, but it would be an unexpected boost to their business.
