Arsenal’s pursuit of Gabriel Jesus makes sense due to the excellent quality he has shown on the pitch from Manchester City in recent years. But a deal also must also be perused because of his versatility, and cheap asking price, which would allow the Gunners to pursue a deal for Victor Osimhen.
According to Italian news outlet La Gazzette dello sport , The Gunners have set their sights on Osimhen, and are currently in the lead when it comes to important Premier League clubs chasing his signature. The report also goes on to claim that Napoli are likely to demand £82m for the striker.
The Gunners are also hot on the tail for Jesus according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, and the Brazilian’s versatility means it would be ideal to sign both forwards at the end of the season.

ESPN Brazil journalist Joao Castelo-Branco has claimed that Edu already has a couple of transfer targets planned, as Arsenal will focus on bringing into one or two big signings in the summer transfer window. After strengthening in the defence and midfield departments last summer, it is imperative that Arteta adds to the squad depth in the forward positions.
The Gunners are in desperate need for a striker and will need to sign two forwards ahead of next season if Arteta wants strength in depth. This is because of the seemingly inevitable departure of Alexandre Lacazette, as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
If the Frenchman does depart from the club then the Gunners could be left with just one recognised striker in the form of Folarin Balogun. Eddie Nketiah’s contract is also set to expire at the end of the campaign, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already left the club in the January transfer window.
Jesus and Osimhen would be excellent additions to the club, and it is a transfer package that could cost them £95m in total. CBS Sports journalist James Benge has claimed it will take at least £70m for Napoli to sell Osimhen, while according to Spanish news outlet Marca, Jesus could be snapped up for £25m.
Jesus has played 203 games as a striker during his club career scoring 93 goals, but more interestingly he has also played 53 games as a winger where he has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists. This highlights that he is also effective from the wing positions, and his versatility also allows the arrival of Osimhen, as they could potentially play together.
Osimhen is an athletic, quick and imposing attacker. He mixes a lightning turn of pace with long-distance speed and is certainly more than capable of being a prominent threat on the counter-attack for Arsenal.
The Nigeria international certainly would fit the Arsenal profile, and he has previously been courted by former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger. Osimhen has been the star player for Napoli and his national team since making the switch from French side Lille in 2019 after scoring 18 league goals in a single campaign.
