Arsenal are already planning for life without goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Having lost his status as the Gunners' first-choice stopper to Aaron Ramsdale back in September, it's likely that he will end his four-year stay in North London this summer as he bids to avoid missing out on a place in Germany's World Cup squad in Qatar.
With Leno expected to leave, Matt Turner will replace him as the Arsenal number two goalkeeper, following confirmation from New England Revolution that the 27-year-old's move across the Atlantic is done.
Although as reported by football.london , the Gunners will look to confirm the deal in June when Turner flies over to complete a medical thus making him the club's first signing of the summer transfer window.
But have Mikel Arteta and Arsenal technical director Edu made a hasty decision with regards to finding a new back-up option for Ramsdale ahead of the 2022/23 season?
That might just be the case following yet another timely reminder from youngster Karl Hein.
The 19-year-old may not have made a senior breakthrough at Arsenal yet, but he's already an established Estonia international and is now getting minutes on loan at Championship side Reading.
Hein made his Royals debut earlier in the month against Bristol City, but it was his display in the goalless draw away at fellow strugglers Peterborough United that has caught the eye of many Gunners supporters.
As spotted by @COYG_ARS on Twitter, the teenager made a stunning save to deny Jonson Clarke-Harris as early as the ninth minute, which was one of seven he made en route to keeping his first-ever clean sheet at senior level for a club.
This isn't the first time that Hein has impressed away from Arsenal this season.
Back in September, he marked his 10th international cap in some style by producing a brilliant performance to help Estonia hold Wales to a goalless draw away from home in a World Cup qualification fixture.
As the hosts piled on the pressure in the second half, Hein made a couple of outstanding stops to deny Gareth Bale and Tyler Roberts before keeping out another effort from the former Tottenham winger to preserve his clean sheet.
If Hein continues to impress for Reading, there may be calls for him to earn a first-team promotion at Arsenal in the very near future as he may just be the long-term successor to Ramsdale.
But with the Gunners poised to announce a deal for Turner, this may hint at another loan spell for Hein next season as his development will be aided by regular game time instead of operating as a third-choice goalkeeper.
Furthermore, the fact that Arteta and Edu have already tied the 19-year-old down to a new contract is a sign that they have big plans for the Estonian.
"It means a lot to extend my contract with this big club, a big club in Europe, a massive club with traditions. I'm very happy, very happy," he told Arsenal Media. "My ambitions are to play for Arsenal ultimately, train hard, keep the progress going and then hopefully get my chance.
"Step by step, every day I feel more comfortable and it's been a good pre-season and I'm looking forward to this season."
Prior to joining Reading on loan, Hein had been involved with the Arsenal first-team on several occasions and was on the bench for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg defeat by Liverpool last month.
Having started the season competing with Arthur Okonkwo to be the club's third-choice keeper behind Ramsdale and Leno, what Hein has done at international level and the early signs of his loan spell Reading indicate he's closer to making the step up.
The fact he has already shown he has the temperament and ability to play at this level in his tender years can bode well for the future
