Arsenal’s Dusan Vlahovic transfer hopes could hinge on former Gunners star Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Fiorentina ace Dusan Vlahovic could be hanging on what happens with Aaron Ramsey at Juventus.

The Serbia international is a top target of Mikel Arteta’s, who is desperate to splash the cash on a new striker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been ostracised from the first-team after a breach of discipline last month and it looks unlikely that there is a pathway back.

The 32-year-old could be allowed to leave if the right bid arrives after news emerged that he was not keen on a loan to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Whatever happens, Arsenal are in dire need of a striker with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract at the end of the season.

It has led them to Vlahovic, who has scored 17 goals in 21 appearances in Serie A this season.

However, the Gunners are not the only one in the race, and Juventus are believed to be the favourites for his signature.

But it will largely depend on whether or not the Italian giants can offload their fringe players, with Ramsey included.

The Wales international has been left on the sidelines largely throughout his time at Juventus - whether that is because of injury or simply a tactical decision.

This campaign the former Arsenal star has had muscular problems but he is also unfancied by Massimiliano Allegri, despite him being the manager that originally signed him back in 2019.

According to The Athletic, Juve have made moving on players with large salaries to alleviate their massive wage bill.

Ramsey famously penned a £400,000-a-week contract back in 2019 after leaving Arsenal on a free transfer when his contract expired.

Newcastle have been linked with the midfielder, as well as Aston Villa and Crystal Palace but no agreement has been made so far.

And if Juve can get the Welshman to leave Turin, that could finance a move for top transfer target Vlahovic.

The Serbian is being hunted by the Bianconeri, who are desperate to fill the void left up front by Cristiano Ronaldo.

It means Ramsey could play a pivotal role in the future of Vlahovic - whether he ends up at Arsenal or Juventus.

Missing out on the former Partizan star would be a major blow for the Gunners but there are other targets in mind.

Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak is being eyed as a potential alternative, as well as Everton ’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
