Arsenal boast a number of quality youngsters within Mikel Arteta’s squad. But in years gone by, the Gunners have had their fair share of mistakes when deciding on a player's future.
Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba are all perfect examples of young players making the grade at the club. All three have played starring roles for Mikel Arteta's side this season and are expected to be front and centre for years to come.
But on the other end of the scale there have been some that have been allowed to leave, only to impress at their new clubs. Serge Gnabry has made over 200 appearances for Bayern Munich since leaving the Gunners in 2016 and there is now another ex-Arsenal star catching the eye.

Yunus Musah spent seven years in the London Colney academy before leaving in 2019 at the age of 16. He moved to Valencia in a bid to secure first-team football in Spain. "I felt at the time maybe, we'll never know, that I wasn't able to be in the Arsenal first-team so early," the USMNT star said during the World Cup.
"Their team was really good and I felt at my age I could play first-team football and there was the chance to move to Valencia. Things turned out great. I'm very grateful for that."
Since making the move to the Mestalla, Musah has appeared 97 times for the first-team and is now a regular figure in Ruben Baraja's midfield. His form in La Liga has resulted in Arsenal keeping tabs on the midfield, with Fabrizio Romano suggesting scouts had been sent to monitor him this season.
Now, after his impressive displays at the World Cup with the USA, Musah has been ranked as one of the world's best wonderkids. In a list compiled by ESPN, the former Arsenal academy star was ranked as the 35th-best youngster - ahead of Harvey Elliott, Giovanni Reyna and Kouadio Kone.
Alongside their ranking of Musah, ESPN wrote: "Often a victim of his own versatility, Musah has been assigned a more suitable No. 8 role in the centre of midfield for Valencia.
"Never short of application, his increased efficiency has been predominantly seen on the defensive side of his game (3-plus recoveries per 90 minutes.) His speed of dribbling with the ball and eagerness to press opponents are other attributes that keep Premier League clubs alert to his availability."
Gunners duo Saka and Martinelli are ranked inside the top ten of the rankings with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham top of the charts.
