Arsenal have unveiled a brand new Jamaica-themed pre-match kit ahead of their clash with Fulham on Saturday afternoon. It has also launched in time for the Notting Hill Carnival that is set to take place across this weekend, with the new shirt described as a celebration of culture.
Dressed in the new green, black and gold shirt, stars of the men's team and the women's team joined up to help launch the kit on the website. Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli and Mana Iwabuchi were all pictured wearing the brand new shirt with the Jamaican flag in shot.
It's not the first time that Adidas have helped create a new pre-match shirt pattern for the Gunners, with last season featuring the Transport For London design that had the pattern of the London Underground seats on. However, this one has aligned with the Notting Hill Carnival weekend, an event that takes place on the streets of Notting Hill in Kensington.

It is one of the biggest street festivals in the world, led by members of the British Caribbean community as a celebration of culture every August. This year marks the return of the carnival after two-years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The official Arsenal release states that the kit pays tribute to those who call both London and Jamaica their home. Academy graduate and first-team star Smith Rowe comes from Jamaican heritage and described how proud he felt over the new shirt, telling the official website: "Football is nothing without the fans, and I’m proud to see adidas and my club continuing to support our supporters from all backgrounds – just like we did when we launched our home shirt this year. It’s a stunning shirt and I’m looking forward to wearing it.”
That was a similar sentiment felt by Gunners icon Ian Wright, who said: "It’s fantastic to see adidas and Arsenal celebrating its rich and diverse fanbase. Arsenal is for everyone, and creating initiatives, support and products that resonate with the wide-ranging fanbase is fantastic to see. The fans are going to love it!”
