Arsenal have reached an agreement in their pursuit of Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer with a deal for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez now looking unlikely.
The Argentinian emerged as one of the Gunners' top targets for the summer but they were unwilling to pay the asking price for a player who may not have been first-choice at the Emirates. Manchester United have taken advantage of the situation and are now set to complete that specific deal.
So the Gunners have moved on to alternative options with Mikel Arteta now eager to stage a second Man City reunion of the summer. Gabriel Jesus has already moved from the Etihad ahead of the new campaign and he could well be joined by Oleksandr Zinchenko.

As per The Athletic, Arsenal have moved on to the 25-year-old after the trail for Martinez went cold. The Ukrainian offers similar attributes as far as his versatility goes and is capable of playing as a left-back as well as in central midfield.
Now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a further update on the deal with negotiations progressing at a rapid. rate. Taking to Twitter, the journalist wrote: "Arsenal and Manchester City have now reached verbal agreement in principle for Oleksandr Zinchenko, fee around £30m. Personal terms are still discussed. Salary and length of contract, in negotiation - key step to complete the agreement."
