Arsenal Raphinha transfer race takes huge twist as Gabriel Jesus agrees terms over summer switch

The transfer window is beginning to heat up as we enter another week in the summer market. Arsenal are expected to be one of the busier sides, having already confirmed two deals so far.

With Mikel Arteta ’s squad making their return to the Europa League, the need for depth and arrivals is only emphasised. Promising duo Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira have already been confirmed, while goalkeeper Matt Turner is expected to be announced in due course too.

The moves are unlikely to stop there though, as suggested by director Edu. Speaking to the Arsenal official website, he said: “We will now continue to work hard and are looking forward to finishing this transfer window as strongly possible.”

A number of players have been linked with a switch to the Emirates. So with that said, football.london takes a look at all the latest rumours surrounding the Gunners.

Raphinha decision

Arsenal have pulled out of the race to sign Leeds winger Raphinha this summer, according to Spanish publication Sport. The report claims that the Brazilian has his heart set on a move to Barcelona instead.

However, conflicting reports have suggested that this isn’t the case and the Gunners are still firmly in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

Gabriel Jesus agreement

Gabriel Jesus has agreed terms to sign for Arsenal in the coming days, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Manchester City striker is set to pen a five-year contract with the Gunners, taking his deal until 2027.

The transfer is set to cost roughly £45million, with the reporter claiming that Edu and Arteta were key in beating the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham to his signature.

Lisandro Martinez price tag

Arsenal target Lisandro Martinez is set to cost £42million from Ajax this summer, should a club wish to sign him. That is according to The Mirror, who claim that both the Gunners and Manchester United have met with the defender’s representatives over a potential move.
