Arsenal have continued to clear out their fringe players with Pablo Mari joining Italian club Monza on loan.
The loan has an obligation clause to be made permanent next summer based around Monza avoid relegation from Serie A and the number of appearances Mari makes for them.
Should the move go through then, Arsenal will bank around €7million (£5.9m), with that figure including the loan fee the club received this summer.
Mari joined the Gunners in January 2020 and cost around £6.8m after his initial loan stay was made permanent the following summer.
However, he failed to nail down a regular first-team spot and was sent to Udinese midway through last season and departs having made just 22 appearances for Arsenal, scoring once.
Monza, owned by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, won promotion back to Serie A ahead of the new campaign.
The Italian club have been in the market for a centre-back all summer and moved for Mari when they heard he was available.
Arsenal have looked to trim their squad this summer and they will continue to do so over the coming weeks.
Goalkeeper Alex Runarsson is likely to be the next to go, with a loan move to Turkish side Antalyaspor in the works.
Right-back Hector Bellerin is also expected to leave as he has one year on his contract and wants to return to Real Betis, where he spent last season on loan. Midfielder Ainsley Matiland-Niles is also up for sale.
