Arsenal have confirmed they are launching new artwork on the front of the Emirates Stadium following 'extensive consultations' with supporters as part of a number of changes planned.
With the Premier League season on pause for the Qatar World Cup, work has officially begun on the renovations on the stadium. The exterior artwork on the front of the stadium is the first section of the changes to the 60,704-capacity arena, an area that has not been updated since its opening in 2006.
The original artwork showed an image of club legends Cliff Bastin, Tony Adams, Liam Brady and Thierry Henry alongside the Arsenal crest in the middle of the design. Images on social media showed that construction had begun to take the design down before the club confirmed their plans to reveal new artwork.

A statement on the official club website read: "Since April, we’ve enjoyed extensive consultations with a broad and diverse range of supporters on the new artwork that will adorn the Emirates Stadium exterior.
"We started with a blank piece of paper and the sole intention of working with our community to create art that would express what Arsenal means in 2023.
"With the commitment, support and input of the Arsenal family, we’re now very close to finalising eight pieces of art that are true to who we are, what we are, and who we represent as a club.
"We’re excited to launch the new artwork in January and many supporters may have noticed that, as the World Cup brings a break in our men’s fixtures, we’ve already started to remove the existing art. While this means the stadium will be ‘bare’ for a few weeks, we hope you’ll agree it will be worth the wait! We look forward to sharing more details soon."
