Arsenal 'prepare' Youri Tielemans bid as Gunners flop edges closer to Premier League return

Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours for Saturday, August 6.

Youri Tielemans bid 'imminent'

According to The Sun, via the Mirror, Arsenal are preparing an opening bid for Leicester star Youri Tielemans with an offer set to be submitted 'imminently'.

football.london understands the Gunners have stalled negotiations for the Belgium international in recent weeks despite Tielemans being keen on a move to north London.

Mikel Arteta has admitted publicly that Arsenal are still in the transfer market for a couple more signings prior to the deadline.

Arsenal flop return

Former Arsenal and Chelsea attacker Willian could be set for a shock return to the Premier League this summer, according to Goal.

Newly-promoted side Fulham are said to have held talks with the Brazilian winger over a potential return to England after leaving the Gunners for Corinthians last summer.

The report suggests Willian has a clause in his contract which means the Brazilian side are obliged to facilitate a move to a European club, allowing Fulham to open talks with the 33-year-old.

Arsenal three transfer priorities

Arsenal have three transfer priorities to complete before the transfer window slams shut in a couple of weeks - a new winger, new midfielder and selling on a number of fringe players.

Youri Tielemans has been a long-term target for central midfield, with Arteta keen to add more competition in that area. football.london understands Cody Gakpo is admired at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners are interested in signing the Dutch talent.

Arteta commented on the transfer business still to be done by Arsenal prior to the game against Crystal Palace. The Spaniard said: "Everything is still open, it’s a long window, a lot has happened, it’s incredible how much business the clubs have done across the Premier League and it shows how competitive it is and this season is not going to stop that.

"Players are going to have the need to leave, some others to move and everything is open still."

Bernd Leno has already left the club whilst Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari look set to become the next departures from north London.
