Arsenal predicted XI and injury news ahead of Newcastle United clash at the Emirates

Arsenal have only a few injury concerns ahead of their Tuesday evening clash against Newcastle United at the Emirates.

The Gunners sit top of the Premier League table, with Mikel Arteta's side currently seven points clear of second placed Manchester City.

Arsenal have recorded back to back wins against West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion since their domestic post-World Cup return, and will be looking to widen the gap between themselves and City.

Of course, a win for Arteta and co at the Emirates would also pull them 12 points clear of Newcastle, who currently sit third in the Premier League.

The Magpies were frustrated last time out by Leeds United, who managed to take a point away from St James' Park in a 0-0 draw on New Year's Eve.

On the injury front, Arsenal will be without Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson against Newcastle.

Jesus is a long-term absence with a knee injury while Nelson will miss out after picking up a hamstring injury prior to the return of the Premier League.

While Smith Rowe looks set to return this month following groin surgery in September, the game against the Magpies is too early for him to make it.

However, despite the absence of the trio, Arsenal will still select a strong starting XI to face Newcastle.

Aaron Ramsdale will start in net with William Saliba and Gabriel forming the Gunners centre-back pairing.

Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko should start at full-back although Arteta could spring a surprise and opt to give Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney added minutes against Newcastle.

In midfield, the Magpies will likely face off against Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka, while Arsenal's attacking trio upfront should be made up of Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka.

Predicted Arsenal starting XI to face Newcastle United (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli
