Arsenal player ratings vs Wolves as Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel impress with Martin Odegaard key

Aaron Ramsdale: Hardly called upon. Made one good low grasp from a powerful Guedes free kick. Some decent ball distribution at times. 6

Ben White: Celebrated his World Cup call-up with probably his worst game of the season so far. Petulantly threw the ball at a linesman and his link-up with Saka was off all night. 5.

William Saliba: Could have given away a penalty and was lucky that his intercepted pass didn't cause more damage. Solid aside from that but two very big moments that luckily went unpunished. 5.

Gabriel: Some truly decisive blocks at the back and some excellent covering for Saliba. Was the more grown up of the defensive pairing today and led the backline accordingly 8.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Did the usual trick of coming extremely central in the build-up and helped Arsenal maintain an almost complete stranglehold on the game. Not particularly decisive in possession though. 6.

Thomas Partey: Some decent defensive work in front of the back four when Wolves were in transition. Not his most progressive passing display though. 6.

Granit Xhaka: Looked ill from minute one after going down seeming to hold his stomach. Big blow to lose such an influential player so early. n/a.

Martin Odegaard: Popped up with a goal with the kind of run that you want to see him make more of in the box. Hadn't been particularly influential before that, but popped up again with another goal to secure the game. 8.

Bukayo Saka: Struggled to impact the game much at all. Failed to really get beyond Bueno at any stage and couldn't link up with White as well as he has been. Not his best game. 5.

Gabriel Jesus: Showed arguably the one moment of true quality in the game when he played through Vieira in the build-up to the goal. Had been Arsenal's biggest threat before that. Now hasn't scored for 11 matches but the fact that no one at Arsenal seems to mind speaks volumes about how well he's playing at the minute. 7.

Gabriel Martinelli: Superb industry in the build-up to the second goal which is typical of the Brazilian. Followed the run into the box and then was unlucky not to score but had Odegaard pick up the rebound. 7.

Substitutes -

Fabio Vieira: Wasn't having the best of games until popping up with a superb assist for Martin Odegaard's goal. Got beyond the backline a lot more in the second half to imitate Granit Xhaka better and was far more effective as a result. 7.

Reiss Nelson: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Mohamed Elneny: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Cedric: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
