Arsenal player ratings vs Wolves as Bukayo Saka impresses but Gabriel Martinelli sees red

Aaron Ramsdale: Made some good saves when called upon and was quick off his line when he needed to be. A calming presence particularly in a crazy second half. 7.

Cedric: Got forward really well and put in some fantastic delivery down the right flank in the first half in particular. Tested defensively in the second and stood up well. 7.

Ben White: The England international is typecast as a player who doesn't like getting down and dirty with defending, but he proved once again how wrong that is tonight. Some nice dribbling from the back too. 7.

Gabriel: Scored the goal but perhaps could have been a little better with his passing. The Brazilian excels in backs to the wall defending though and was excellent after the red card. 7.

Kieran Tierney: Took plenty of long throws that didn't amount to much, not at his usual flying best going forward but really solid defensively when needed though. 7.

Thomas Partey: A mishit clearance nearly saw Arsenal fall behind in the early stages but the Ghanaian recovered well to have a good game. Some composed moments in possession and nice midfield bursts were a highlight. 7.

Granit Xhaka: The Swiss midfielder's passing wasn't the best at times, but he did a decent job of screening the defence and played his part after the red. 6.

Bukayo Saka: The winger tormented Marcal in the first half and would have had the assist of the season if Lacazette had had his shooting boots on. Unlucky to be hauled off after red. 8.

Martin Odegaard: Spent much of the game drifting to the wide areas to try and find space, and failed to influence things as much as he can when he's at his dominating best. 6.

Gabriel Martinelli: Was punished for a moment of ill discipline in the harshest possible way, but the Brazillian should have known better than to haul his man down twice. Some nice attacking play before that, but his night was ruined by the red. 5.

Alexandre Lacazette: On a night where he needed to prove he was ready to lead the line for Arsenal for the remainder of the season the Frenchman was woefully lacking missing three huge chances. Makes you wonder how often we'll be writing the same thing between now and May. 4.

Substitutes -

Emile Smith Rowe: Was brought on to help get a second but saw his match change almost instantly after the red. Progressed the ball upfield well enough at times, but could have done better to hold it in the opposition half. 6.

Rob Holding: Holding is superb when it comes to backs to the wall defending and so after coming on following the red card he was typically solid. 7.

Eddie Nketiah: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
