Arsenal player ratings vs Sevilla: Gabriel Jesus the hat-trick hero, Saliba and Martinelli shine

Aaron Ramsdale: Saw Fernando's header loop over him and fortunately on the top of the net and Karim Rekik's effort drop just wide as Sevilla started the second half the stronger of the two sides. 7

Ben White: Brought the ball out of defence a lot more after the break, was willing to show support in attack and came very close to scoring the goal of the game but looped his effort a yard wide of the post. Looks very comfortable at right-back. 7

William Saliba: Another confident showing from the young Frenchman. Cool as a cucumber in possession, always in the right place at the right time. Looks ready to start the Premier League season. 8

Gabriel: Solid throughout. His partnership with Saliba has been a big plus during pre-season and will give Arteta a few team selection problems over the course of next season. 7

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Showed great awareness defensively to cover his centre-backs early in the second half as he took a painful one to prevent Youssef En-Nesyri from getting a shot away. 7

Thomas Partey: Really good second half from the Ghana international. Produced some crisp passes and almost claimed an assist for Granit Xhaka with a lofted ball over the top. 7

Martin Odegaard: Not as effective in the second half and, in truth, was a little wasteful in front of goal as he spurned two decent chances in quick succession. Still an impressive showing from the new permanent Arsenal captain. 8

Granit Xhaka: Took up some advanced positions, had every right to question why a teammate wasn't on the end of his ball across the face of goal. Very unlucky to not get on the scoresheet with a dipping volley. 8

Bukayo Saka: Was on the receiving end of a painful-looking tackle from Marcus Acuna right at the start of the second half, but was fine to continue. Needed treatment in a concerning moment, although he returned to action without grabbing his hat-trick. 8

Gabriel Jesus: A hat-trick on his unofficial Arsenal home debut, pressed well from the front and has already transformed the Gunners' attack following his £45m transfer from Manchester City. 9

Gabriel Martinelli: A goal would have capped off a fine afternoon for the Brazilian as he did everything but score. Claimed two assists - very unselfish for Eddie Nketiah. Combined well with Xhaka and Zinchenko down the left-hand side. 8

Substitutes

Eddie Nketiah: Held the ball up well, created a chance and got on the scoresheet with an easy tap-in. 7

Nicolas Pepe: Went close to scoring but his effort lacked any pace. 6

Cedric: Came on at left-back, sent in a free-kick from which Martinelli should have done a lot better with. 6

Mohamed Elneny: Came on, but didn't influence the game a great deal. N/A

Sambi Lokonga: Introduced too late to have an impact. N/A

Reiss Nelson: Just like Lokonga, wasn't given enough time to make an impression. N/A
