Arsenal player ratings vs Manchester United: Oleksandr Zinchenko imperious as Bukayo Saka torments

Eddie Nketiah scored a late winner as Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-2 to stay five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Here’s how Mikel Arteta’s side rated at Emirates Stadium...

Aaron Ramsdale 5

No chance with Rashford’s strike, then made smart low stop to keep out the same player early in second half. Really poor as he spilled for Martinez’s leveller.

Ben White 5

Booked for foul on Rashford early on and looked edgy thereafter. Replaced at half-time as Arteta decided not to risk a second yellow.

William Saliba 6

A couple of shaky moments early on but settled. Still probably a fraction short of pre-World Cup best.

Gabriel 7

Couldn’t quite keep out Martinez header on the line but continued an impressive run of performances.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 9

So intelligent in his use of the ball, even if United system limited his usual forays inside before break. Influence grew with superb second-half performance, capped by making the winner.

Martin Odegaard 7

Status as leader was clear in aftermath of Rashford opener as he rallied teammates, then whipped up crowd during late stoppage. Deflected strike flicked in by Nketiah for winner.

Thomas Partey 5

Started brilliantly but gave ball away and then deceived by Rashford for opener. Sloppy in possession and a bit of an off-day.

Granit Xhaka 6

Fine cross set up Nketiah’s leveller. Frustrated by a couple of decisions but kept his head.

Bukayo Saka 8

Arsenal’s thrust as ever in good battle against Shaw, taking the ball in unpromising positions and turning the momentum. Fired a great strike to put Arsenal ahead and almost repeated the trick when deflected effort hit post.

Eddie Nketiah 8

His fine work as Gabriel Jesus’ deputy continues. Got the run on his man to score fine headed equaliser. Looked to have missed chance to win it when denied by De Gea but reacted to steer in Odegaard’s effort.

Gabriel Martinelli 7

Might have done better with a couple of half-chances from decent positions but the zip missing in recent weeks was back.

Substitutes

Takehiro Tomiyasu (White 46’) 6

Had corner taken off his head by Ramsdale when might’ve cleared before Martinez goal. Otherwise, had a positive impact.

Leandro Trossard (Martinelli 82’)

On for his debut as Arsenal pushed for winner and was bright in cameo.

Rob Holding (Odegaard 90’)

Unused: Turner, Tierney, Lokonga, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Marquinhos
