Arsenal player ratings vs Leeds as Eddie Nketiah gets revenge and Gabriel Martinelli stars

Aaron Ramsdale: Don't think he even touched the ball but still conceded from a corner. Could do little to stop it but will be disappointed not have a clean sheet. 6.

Cedric: His set piece delivery right on top of Illan Meslier caused a fair few problems and he was generally defensively sound. Did well overall. 7.

Rob Holding: Fooled by a good bit of movement from Junior Firpo in the corner that Leeds scored from but was generally decent aside from that. 6.

Gabriel: Got needlessly booked for a tackle on halfway which is something he needs to take away from his game. Good enough aside from that if not particularly spectacular. 6.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Did a decent job filling in at left back defensively, but couldn't offer much support offensively. A steady performance from the Japan international. 8.

Mohamed Elneny: Again steady enough in front of the back four, although the tempo of his passing, particularly in the second half was a little too slow. 6.

Martin Odegaard: Some lovely tricks and flicks on the edge of the box to break open what as an admittedly loosely locked Leeds defence. May have scored in the second half if his shooting had been a bit more accurate. 7.

Granit Xhaka: Involved in a slightly unnecessary scuffle with Klich but was assured aside from that. Some nice balls on the edge of the box in the left eight spot and kept the rest of his team going. 7.

Bukayo Saka: Caused Junior Firpo a lot of problems in the first half, but like the rest of the Arsenal side he faded a lot in the second. Rested early on for Thursday. 6.

Eddie Nketiah: Two proper centre forward goals from Nketiah who got his revenge against his old club. The first a high press that worked for him again and the second created with some nice movement. Really earning his place in the side at the minute. 8.

Gabriel Martinelli: Consistently caused Leeds problems down the left and probably contributed to the frustration that saw Ayling make his red card tackle. Only thing missing from the display was a goal. 8.

Substitutes -

Nicolas Pepe: Given half an hour to impress but didn't do much with it. Another relatively anonymous cameo from the Ivorian. Had the chance to drive forward when Meslier was up for a late corner and wasted it. 4.

Emile Smith Rowe: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Alexandre Lacazette: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
